JOB SUMMARY:  
 
Responsible for assisting the Center Manager of the Family Support and Resource Center with Center activities, programming, scheduling, recordkeeping, documentation, purchasing, outreach, and assist with supervising volunteers.  Participates in the organization’s performance and quality improvement efforts.
 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:  

  1. Assists with the development and implementation regarding all aspects of the Family Support and Resource Center including Center programming, documentation, recordkeeping, purchasing,  MIS/statistics and/or CQI support, staff scheduling, monthly Center Advisory meetings, monthly bilingual (English/Spanish) calendars and fliers, outreach activities, 
  2. Coordinates canned goods donations, keeps the Center organized, clean, and safe. 
  3. Attends community meetings as requested.  
  4. Attends, successfully completes and documents minimum trainings as requested and/or required by The Children’s Home Inc. and/or The Healthy Start Coalition.
  5. Assists with recruitment and supervision of volunteers as requested. 
  6. Work within the philosophy and guidelines of The Children's Home, Healthy Start Coalition, and The Children's Board.
  7. Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
 
Education & Experience: High School diploma or Equivalency, with one year experience working with families and children within the family empowerment model.   Associate Degree preferred in a social service related field.  Bi-lingual in Spanish helpful.
 
Licenses & Certifications:

  • Must possess and maintain a valid Florida driver’s license with no record of criminal driving offense of license suspension.  
  • Must possess means of providing job related transportation and show proof of required insurance.  Must be insurable under CHI’s current auto insurance policy.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.  
  • Must successfully complete  and maintain FDLE clearance, Federal background and state criminal background check and sexual predator screening.

  
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing and with bilingual skills when required, English/Spanish.  Ability to establish effective working relationships with families, coworkers, supervisors, and other individuals.  
  • Possess effective interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of agency’s organizational structure, standard operating procedures, and policies.
  • Knowledge of child abuse or neglect reporting procedures and methods.
  • Knowledge of intervention, i.e. behavior management methods, strategies, and techniques.
  • Knowledge of quality documentation as required by agency standards, rules, and regulations.
  • Ability to provide follow-up services as required.
  • Ability to work as a multi-disciplinary team member in a positive productive manner.

 
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL SKILLS:

  •  Visual: ability to safely operate a motor vehicle, read printed materials, and makes observations of physical facilities.
  • Hearing: ability to understand and comprehend spoken dialogue in individual and group settings, both English and Spanish helpful.
  • Ability to speak clearly and effectively, both English and Spanish helpful.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
 Work is primarily performed in an office environment.  May work outside during special events.
