Benada Aluminum Products, LLC, located in Sanford, FL is seeking strong Mechanical Maintenance Technicians to support our Maintenance Department in an aluminum extrusion plant.

Openings are on 2nd and 3rd shift. These positions will work in all areas of our aluminum production facility including; Extrusion, Coating Line and Cut-to-Length.


Mechanical Maintenance Technician (Multi-Trade)

 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:

  • Perform duties to plan and perform installation, repair, modification and maintenance procedures on building facilities and electrical, electronic and mechanical production equipment.
  • Work from maintenance work orders, schedules, manuals, check lists, prints, sketches and schematics. 
  •  Fabricate equipment from sketches or drawings as required. Select and size wire, transformers, conduit, junction boxes and similar components. Bend and run conduit. Install, diagnose/repair AC and DC motors and drives, transformers and motor starters. Repair control circuits and size motor overload heaters based on load as directed.
  • Install, calibrate, replace/troubleshoot DC electronic solid state control motors, AC frequency drives, electronic temperature controllers and various electronic sensing and timing equipment, working under direction.
  •  Machine, repair or replace mechanical parts involving cutting, milling, drilling, tapping, threading, grinding, boring and countersinking to precise tolerances. Perform arc welding operations in all positions and use oxyacetylene equipment to cut, solder, braze, heat and light-fusion weld parts.
  •  Perform a wide range of hydraulic, pneumatic, gas and steam plumbing and piping operations. Install and repair high and low pressure hydraulic and pneumatic cylinders, fittings, couplings, pumps, motors, valves, regulators, pipe, tubing and hoses. Install, diagnose, maintain and repair gas-fired ovens, boilers, gas burners, regulators, valves and related electric and manual controllers, pressure switches, flame detectors and chart recorders, working under direction. Install and maintain low pressure steam pipes, manual and electric pressure control valves, pressure switches, temperature switches and boiler water pumps.
  •  Prepare material requisition forms and other maintenance related paperwork, informing the team leader of shortages in spare parts inventories.
  •  Attend and participate in a variety of meetings and task force groups to integrate activities, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems and maintain specific level of knowledge pertaining to new developments, requirements and policies.
  •  Perform and assist with any departmental operations, as required or directed to maintain work flow or respond to emergency conditions. 
  •  Maintain work area in a clean and orderly condition. Ensure safe operating conditions within area of responsibility.
  • Responsibilities of this position may include the handling and management of hazardous wastes and other hazardous substances in routine activities or as directed by the HES Manager. 

Electro - Mechanical Maintenance Technicians


EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
• Associates degree in a technical field or at least three years’ experience in PLC troubleshooting, working with and repairing AC/DC motors and drives, hydraulic circuits, proportional controls, power distributions, and electronic circuitry.
• Manual dexterity to work with a variety of hand and power tools. Ability to maneuver and work in confined spaces. Ability to move/manipulate electrical motors and electronic equipment equivalent to frequent lifting or moving up to 30 pounds of material.
• Strong analytical ability involving continuous mental and visual attention to troubleshoot and repair electrical and electronic equipment.
• Strong mathematics skills to use advanced trade mathematics in the use of complicated tools


Manufacturing or industry experience IS required.
