Protective Systems is hiring a full time Senior Fire Systems Designer primarily focused on Fire Alarm and Clean Agent Systems.  Salary will be commensurate with experience.

The basic function of this position is to design fire alarm systems for Protective Systems projects. 

Designer shall be responsible for the creation of design drawings and submittals (system drawings, bill of material, calculations, technical manuals, "as-built", etc.) for fire alarm systems and track for design approval. Should have basic understanding of mechanical systems and their interface to fire alarm systems. Identify, define and develop solutions to issues that are not immediately evident in existing processes and systems. Under general supervision; ability to exercise independent judgment; must compare alternate courses of action and make a decision after considering the options.  Work as a team player to technically support our sales team, technicians, CAD drafters, and project managers through the delivery cycle. Periodically visit project sites for surveys or to attend meeting.

Duties Include:

• Design fire alarm systems at the permit level and shop drawing level of detail for fire protection contractors
• Perform calculations for designs and evaluations
• Create pre-construction phase conceptual or schematic designs
• Prepare specifications
• Perform RFI review and recommendations
• Required:
• Experienced in fire alarm system design
• Experience with AutoCAD 
• NICET Level III
• Able to perform duties without direct supervision
• Knowledgeable in the NFPA standards 
• Good written and spoken communication skills
• Excellent ability to schedule and manage workload efficiently
• Reliable transportation
• Desired:
• NICET Level IV 
• Clean Agent design experience
• Project management experience
