Wellness Director, Lake Nona YMCA Family Center 

Are you ready for the next step in your career with one of the most progressive YMCA Associations in the country? The YMCA of Central Florida has an exciting wellness leadership opportunity at our Lake Nona YMCA Family Center in Orlando, Florida.

We are looking for a dynamic, highly motivated, seasoned Wellness Director. The incumbent will be responsible for new member acquisition and retention of existing members; as well as provide staff leadership and development in the areas of wellness, group exercise, and personal training. S/he will be challenged to provide a successful track record in fiscal management and the execution of innovative wellness programs. This individual must successfully integrate efforts throughout the areas of Healthy Living; Youth Development and Social Responsibility; increase membership through new member acquisition and retention of existing members. S/he must have refined verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with all levels of management, staff, members, volunteers, and guests. S/he will be required to work flexible hours, especially during peak times of facility usage that include some weekends and holidays.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree required, in health sciences, wellness, kinesiology or related field of study required. Master degree in related field a plus.
  • ACSM, NSCA, CPR/AED and First Aid certifications required.
  • Minimum 5 years senior management experience overseeing wellness, group exercise, and personal training programs essential, YMCA experience preferred.
  • Current Group Exercise and Personal Training certifications through a YMCA approved vendor required.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency required; Oracle and Technogym experience a plus.
  • Must have exceptional interpersonal, public relations and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to train, mentor and develop staff.
  • Demonstrated skills in fundraising, public relations and programming for wellness initiatives.
