CLASSIFICATION: Associate Compliance Specialist
HOURS: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (M-F)
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: B.A./B.S. in biology, entomology or related field from a four-year college or university with a minimum of one to three years of related experience and/or training. FDEP Stormwater Erosion or Sedimentation Control Inspector Certification is preferred. FSA Stormwater Operator Level I & II Certification is preferred. Demonstrate proficiency with GIS mapping system and other required software programs. Valid Florida’s driver’s license with insurability. Perform or assist with any operations, as required to maintain workflow and to meet schedules and quality requirements. Participate in any variety of meetings and work groups to integrate activities, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems and maintain specified level of knowledge pertaining to new developments, requirements, and policies. Assist with Erosion control and SWPPP reviews for compliance with NPDES and SFWMD permits. Assist in the Mosquito Surveillance Program. Coordinate pre-construction meetings. Provide permitting information to contractors. Perform construction site inspections for permit compliance / land development regulations. Perform on-site MS4 inspections.
RESPONSIBILITIES: This position will provide primary support for the Permit Compliance Specialist; the position will provide back-up support for the Mosquito Programs Coordinator. Will involve the collection and analysis of data in support of one or both of these programs. The job, although primarily a field position, will require reporting and analysis activities and will involve the use of various computer software; including but not limited to Excel, Access, Microsoft Word, Office, & Power Point.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The employee frequently is required to walk and sit. The employee is occasionally required to stand; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and swim. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
PAY: Minimum starting pay is $903 per week.
