Successful candidate will provide Human Resources support for the U.S. & Canada business unit. This is a Generalist role which encompasses a wide range of human resources functions including recruiting, employee relations, recordkeeping, salary administration, coaching discussions, and performance management. Responsibilities will include the following:
RECRUITING
- Partner with leaders to identify staffing needs and job requirements, identify highly qualified candidates, and manage the interview and selection process.
- Develop and maintain creative and contemporary network of contacts to source qualified candidates. Identify cost-effective recruiting methods such as digital advertising, college placement offices, and staffing companies. Finalize contractual placement agreements as needed; work with recruiters and staffing agencies to identify, interview and recruit candidates for full-time and or temporary positions.
- Review resumes; conduct screening interviews and obtain information on work history, education, training, skills, salary requirements, etc. Schedule telephone and on-site interviews; make travel arrangements if required.
- Prepare offer letters and complete on a timely basis the pre-employment process (drug tests, background checks, references etc.). Notify interviewees of the status of positions.
- Coordinate temporary staffing requirements. Maintain records and consulting agreements on contingent workers; ensure alignment with department needs and budgets. Partner with departments and general counsel to prepare consulting agreements.
EMPLOYEE RELATIONS
- Support the professional and personal development of Associates.
- Provide general direction to Associates on Company policies and procedures. Answer questions on areas including staffing, performance management, and career planning.
- Coordinate employee assistance, recreational activities and other related programs.
REPORTING, RECORDKEEPING AND OTHER GENERALIST ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Ensure timely completion of performance management process. Coordinate, distribute and follow-up on performance appraisals and personnel action notices.
- Coordinate, prepare and distribute salary planning worksheets.
- Establish and maintain a database for monthly reporting. Provide reports data for management as requested.
- Maintain data on recruitment activities (applicant flow, interviews, hires, transfers, promotions and terminations).
- Maintain database and provide monthly reporting for Canadian Benefits providers and the government.
- Complete exit interviews and separation processes.
- Research and compile information on personnel records as necessary and in response to legal requirements
- Prepare, coordinate and track departmental budget.
- Maintain and update personnel files, organization charts, job descriptions and HR files.
- Partner with HRIS leader to automate processes where possible.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Human Resources or equivalent education and work experience.
- Four to six years of related human resources experience
- Project Management experience preferred
- Ability to objectively partner with Associates and management on employee relations and development opportunities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work well with culturally diverse leaders and Associates at all levels.
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
- Excellent organizational skills; high level of accuracy and detail-orientation
- Flexibility and demonstrated ability to handle a high volume of work and manage multiple priorities simultaneously; ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to work independently; demonstrated self-initiative
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office; knowledge of PeopleSoft and databases
- Facilitation and coaching experience preferred
- Experience with high performance teams preferred
