Safety Manager

Job Objective:
The primary role is to manage the safety and risk control programs for the company at all active roofing constructions sites as well as the warehouse locations for the company within Florida. It is the Safety Manager's duty to facilitate the daily implementation of safe work practices into the company’s operations.
Safety Manager Duties and Goals:
This list below is a general representation and is not a complete listing of duties and goals.
Advise management and the operations team from the pre-project planning phase through to the completion of the project with regards to safety requirements and regulations for the project.
Conduct in-progress job site safety reviews to confirm that all sites meet minimum safety requirements.
Participate in the job completion phase of roofing projects to insure that safety requirements are being met as the project is completed
Work with superintendents and installation crews daily provide focus on implementing safe work practices for all projects.
Execute training programs for new and current company employees for company required training programs.
Coordinate the continual inspection programs for all company owned equipment to insure that equipment is in good working order and compliant with all safety regulations.
Administrate the vehicle and driver safety program for the company.
Complete required paperwork associated with safety and risk management of the company.

Safety Manager Requirements:
Education and Experience:
A minimum 5 years of experience in safety for the general construction industry. Experience within the roofing industry is preferred.
Must be bi-lingual in Spanish & English
2-year associate’s degree. A bachelor’s degree is preferred.
OSHA 30 hour certification. Preference for OSHA OTI certification.
Experience with or knowledge of construction related insurance policies and underwriting.
Knowledge, Abilities, Skills and other Competencies:
Very organized individual with a meticulous attention to detail.
Expert knowledge of OSHA regulations and laws.
High proficient user of Excel, MS Word and web based software systems.
Knowledge or awareness of roofing related products and installation methods.
Strong communicator with good listening skills.
Ability to climb ladders and access surfaces at elevated heights.
Physical Requirements:
Lift up to 50 lbs.
