Plans and administers policies relating to all phases of human resources activity by performing the following duties personally or through managers and supervisors:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Identifies legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance.
Recruits, interviews, and selects employees to fill vacant positions.
Plans and conducts new employee orientation to provide information and training regarding Company policies, procedures, and benefits, and to foster positive attitude toward company goals.
Keeps records of benefits plans participation such as insurance and 401(k) plan, personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, and terminations, and employee statistics for government reporting.
Coordinates management training in interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance review, safety, and sexual harassment.
Advises management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues.
Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.
Administers performance review program to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and equity within organization.
Administers salary administration program to ensure compliance and equity within organization.
Administers benefits programs such as life, health, dental and disability insurances, 401(k), vacation, personal, leave of absence.
Investigates accidents and prepares reports for insurance carrier.
Conducts wage surveys within labor market to determine competitive wage rate.
Prepares budget of human resources operations.
Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner.
Makes timely decisions, exhibits sound and accurate judgment, and communicates changes effectively.
Includes appropriate people in decision-making process and supports and explains reasoning for decisions.
Manages competing demands and changes approach or method to best fit the situation.
Able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events and reacts well under pressure.

Supervisory Responsibilities
Directly supervises one (1) administrative employee. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university in Human Resources Management or related field, and three to five years experience in a Human Resource Generalist role and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
