Annual Salary: $46,815 to $60,018 depending on experience and educational level.

DESCRIPTION:

The Manager, Employee Communications and Engagement oversees content creation, develops internal communications strategies, and facilitates employee engagement. This position promotes awareness, supports employee engagement initiatives, and ensures employee communications are effective and consistent in supporting college strategies and initiatives. This position is responsible for working with Human Resources, College Relations and Marketing, other employee-facing departments, and the Employee Excellence Committee in developing and implementing multiple programs aimed at improving employee communications, recognition programs, intentional culture change and improved organizational effectiveness.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Supports the College in determining links between employee development, engagement, rewards, recognition, and outcomes such as employee morale, employee turnover rates, costs, employee relations issues, and team member success.
  2. Empowers and encourages employees in every department to enhance performance by implementing programs that focus on improving the College’s culture and demonstrating links between engagement and outcomes.
  3. Develops, maintains and coordinates, in conjunction with the HRIS Analyst and HR leadership,  accurate web content for the College’s Human Resources website ensuring timeliness and accuracy of updates using a content management system.
  4. Coordinates the development of employee communications materials and messaging that support the goals and objectives of the College and the Employee Excellence Committee.
  5. Organizes college culture meetings, creates engagement programs, and plans internal college-wide events and activities with team leaders across the organization while effectively managing an approved budget.
  6. Uses traditional and new media to communicate the initiatives of HR, the Employee Excellence Committee, and employee-facing departments.
  7. Develops, calendars, and executes employee engagement communication campaigns and events working closely with HR, College Relations and Marketing, Faculty Center for Teaching and Learning, and the Employee Excellence Committee to engage, motivate and inform employees.
  8. Provides day-to-day support and follow-through on employee engagement program administration, planning and communications.
  9. Stays up-to-date on employee recognition, development, engagement, and communications-related trends, strategies and tools.
  10. Works with HR team to develop means to regularly measure and track the effectiveness of communication regarding organizational development and manage feedback channels, using the information to make recommendations to improve our strategies.
  11. Supports the Associate Director of Employee Engagement in the dissemination of timely communications.
  12. Serves on appropriate college committees to support the development and implementation of college goals and objectives.
  13. Performs other related duties as assigned by supervisor.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution in Human Resources, Communication, Internal Marketing,  Higher Education Leadership, Public Relations, or a related field.
  2. Minimum of 2 years of related experience in Human Resources, Communication, Internal Marketing, Higher Education Leadership, Public Relations, or a related field.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Experience with HR, including Benefits and Rewards and Recognition Programs.
  2. Experience in event planning and giving presentations to groups of various sizes.
  3. Experience working in a post-secondary educational organization.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  1. Ability to develop, write, and edit multiple communications channels, including but not limited to, websites, visual presentations, and news articles.
  2. Proficiency with MS Office Suite, HTML, and Adobe Photoshop.
  3. Must be able to work in a team oriented, objective focused environment.
  4. Demonstrated ability to gather and synthesize information into easily understandable prose and proofread and edit documents created by others.
  5. Demonstrated project and time management skills, attention to detail, ability to meet deadlines while working independently and managing multiple projects.
  6. Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and directly with employees at all levels within the college and external Seminole State constituents.
  7. Ability to handle multiple priorities and confidential assignments, organize work, and function with minimal supervision.
  8. Ability to initiate problem resolution and to formulate ideas into action.
  9. Working knowledge of marketing and motivational principles.
  10. Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS:

  1. Works inside in an office environment.
  2. May be required to travel to and from College campuses and other destinations.
  3. May be required to work flexible hours.
