Harbor Community Bank one of the fastest growing banks in Florida is seeking a Loan Processor / Closer to join their team!


This position requires a self-motivated individual with the ability to prioritize work load and manage to deadlines. The position is responsible for performing due diligence and producing accurate closing packages for consumer loans.


Essential Duties Include:

  • Performs due diligence on consumer loans, including but not limited to calculating required insurance coverage, obtaining payoff figures, performing public records searches and insuring all loan approval conditions are met prior to closing.
  • Performs a pre-closing audit of all loan files delegated to her for processing and closing.
  • Insures that input into the Bank’s loan origination system matches the initial application taken by the loan officer. 
  • Generates complete and correct packages of closing documents to insure the Bank is able to perfect its lien on the subject collateral. 
  • Has the ability to manage a high volume of work without sacrificing quality for quantity.
  • Partners with loan officers, underwriters, service providers and management throughout the consumer lending process to insure a positive customer experience.
  • Assists in the preparation of printed materials for training classes as requested.
  • Assists in the continuing refinement of an efficient workflow for consumer loans.
  • Makes suggestions for improvement and applies creative thinking to workflow analysis.  
  • Performs special projects such as researching and making recommendations regarding service providers, identifying and reporting detrimental trends in the processing/closing phase of the consumer lending workflow, creating letters and forms used in consumer lending, etc.
  • Adheres to policies and procedures; insures compliance with regulatory and statutory requirements; supports the Bank’s goals and values; and, benefits the Bank through outside activities.


The ideal candidate will possess the minimum qualifications:

 

  • Two (2) year degree in business, finance or other financial services discipline or the equivalent combination of education and work related experience.  In the absence of a degree, three (3) years work experience in consumer, residential or business lending with exposure to due diligence tasks and/or preparation of closing documentation.   Educational experience through in-house training sessions, financial industry classes, workshops or seminars offering CEUs for specific certifications in the financial industry and on-line training can be combined to provide the level of education necessary to be considered a candidate for this position.
  • Above average understanding of regulatory and statutory requirements of consumer and home equity lending as well as Bank lending policies and procedures.
  • Ability to interpret legal documents such as trust agreements and powers-of-attorney and determine the appropriateness of their use in consumer and home equity lending transactions.
  • Working knowledge of Florida Real Estate Law sufficient to interpret title work and use same to prepare accurate closing documents. 
  • Proven ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines on a daily basis and deal with difficult problems involving multiple facets and variables in non-standardized situations.
