UTILITIES TECHNICIAN

Perform day-to-day monitoring, operation, and maintenance of the Plant Utility and Juice Distribution areas and functions including, but not limited to, facilities, refrigeration & cooling systems, steam system, water systems, compressed air system, electrical distribution system, concentrate blending and bulk packaging, tank farms, barreling, frozen dock, tanker loading/unloading, aseptic filling and storage, and inventory control.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Perform repairs for any type of plant equipment.

Perform regular preventative maintenance activities & identify other repairs or needs.

Complete requests for service and ensure adequate parts are available for assigned work.

Read and interpret P&ID’s, wiring diagrams & electrical schematics.

Identify, analyze, and solve problems in compliance with all statutory, customer, and parent company requirements.

Communicate & coordinate with equipment operators, other maintenance department members, company management, and vendors during equipment installation, maintenance, or repairs to assure compliance to all company requirements.                   

Timely and accurately complete documentation on repairs and preventative maintenance.

Participate in shift change meetings. Communicate and coordinate work with other Maintenance Team members.

Participate in training with regards to safety, quality, PSM, GMP, food safety, customer requirements, and equipment operation, maintenance, and repairs.

Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

High School Diploma or equivalent, Trade School or some college preferred.

Excellent safety and attendance record. 

Proven understanding and ability to trouble shoot and determine root cause in  industrial mechanical & electrical systems.

Basic computer skills

Basic understanding of PLC control circuits, I/O (digital & analog).

Must have knowledge and minimum 3 years prior experience with PSM, RMP, HAZMAT, HACCP,  GMP, Safety and Food Safety requirements and be able to assist us in being in compliance.

Requires visual and auditory acuity, hand and eye coordination, finger dexterity and the ability to access all work areas.

Ability to work in different work environments ranging from cold (<0F) to hot (>100F).

Heavy lifting, pushing, pulling (up to 50 lbs) during the shift

Stand, lift, twist, bend, climb platforms for 8+ hours per day
