CLASSIFICATION: Sr. Civil Engineer – Project Manager (Specialty in Drainage, Hydrology / Hydraulics)
HOURS: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
• Professional Engineer License
• Seven to ten years of experience as a senior engineer with managerial experience
• Extensive modeling experience using HMS/HECRAS and AdICPR
• Knowledge of principles and practices of civil/drainage engineering
• Knowledge of UNET, AutoCAD & ArcGIS
• Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other required software programs
• Proven project management skills
• Effective positive listening, oral and written communication skills
• Must possess a valid Florida State Driver's license and maintain eligibility under the District's
commercial vehicle program
RESPONSIBILITIES: Using steady and unsteady flow models, assess, maintain and annually update the RCID Master Drainage Model used to verify 100 year flood elevations throughout the District. Prepare reports of
findings and recommendations.
Oversee and direct operation of construction / maintenance activities for roadway, bridge, and water control facilities. Submit budget requirements for repairs. Prepare plans and bid packages, select contractors, and
oversee all phases of construction.
Review proposed construction design for compliance with existing infrastructure system & environmental permits.
Prepare engineering and design documents using applicable software and equipment. Review and prepare technical drawings.
Analyze reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, tests, and aerial photographs to plan and design projects. Review and analyze material submitted by consultants and provide input on the results and disseminate information to the appropriate parties.
Perform other duties as assigned.
