Position is located in Lake Mary, FL.

 SUMMARY:

Ideal candidate should demonstrate a positive attitude, willingness to work with others, ability to analyze moderately difficult problems and offer practical solutions. Candidates will also be responsible for processing commercial loan applications when received, to include credit reports, debt ratio calculations, credit score interpretation, approved/denial recommendation, member or staff notification, cross selling additional loans and working with other related departments to accomplish business goals.  The loan officer is responsible for interviewing with branch staff and members by telephone, in person, email and mail to provide effective positive member relations.  At times, the loan officer may be required to attend functions or networking events outside of the office to promote and cross-sell various products and services through telephone calls, mailing notices and face-to face visits, with the objective of servicing, maintaining, developing new relationships, increasing the deposit and loan portfolio, increasing credit union revenues and identifying current and potential business opportunities for the credit union. Provide personalized attention to all credit union members in order to provide better service, attract and attain new customers and increase the presence of CFE Federal Credit Union in the market.  Interpersonal communication skills are a vital role to this position.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Must be able to review and interpret credit bureau reports to form sound underwriting decisions on business loan applications submitted by members.
  • Must have a basic understanding of business lending and business underwriting, risk aversion and mitigation.
  • Must be able to quickly develop a strong working knowledge of the Meridian Link loan origination system and the Episys system.
  • Must be fully versed and knowledgeable in credit union products and services.
  • Must be a team player, have the ability to work under pressure at times, have a professional image and be able to prioritize work and effectively manage time.
  • Provide monthly or daily reports to department management, which reflect current workflow levels.
  • To provide guidance and instruction to staff in regard to lending questions and decisions.
  • Assist department staff in efficiently and effectively processing the various activities involved in credit granting.
  • Must possess effective communication skills in order to work with other departments and branches effectively, including business owners and senior management.
  • Must have a basic understanding of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • To perform other duties or assignments as assigned. 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of two to three years experience as a loan officer in commercial lending. College degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Bi-lingual language skills a plus.
