A flooring manufacturer in UMATILLA, FL is looking for an experienced Maintenance Mechanic to add to the company’s team.
MUST PASS a pre-employment drug screen and background check
POSITION: Maintenance Mechanic
SALARY: $13/hr
SHIFT: 2nd: 3PM-11PM
TERM: Full Time to Hire

SUMMARY: Maintains production and quality by ensuring operation of machinery and mechanical equipment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, other duties may be assigned:
- Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.
- Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using diagnostic meters, gauges and controls.
- Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using forklift, hoists, and hand and power tools.
- Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges.
- Fabricates repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical issues related to equipment.
- Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt.
- Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests.
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing other projects as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous maintenance experience required in a factory setting
- Formal and/or on the job training in mechanical and/or electrical disciplines
- Working knowledge of high and low voltage equipment
- Must have a flexible work schedule - overtime, weekends, and schedule changes may occur as business needs dictate.
- Physical Requirements – Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, Stand for extended periods of time, Climb ladders, work in extreme heat and be exposed to loud noises
