Position Description

Terry’s Electric, Inc. , a leading electrical contractor in Central Florida has an immediate opening for a Purchasing Assistant in the Kissimmee Florida area. Under the direct supervision of the Purchasing Manager this individual will be responsible for the day to day purchasing administrative and clerical activities.

Essential Duties and Tasks

• Place quote requests with suppliers or vendors and ensure that terms and conditions are accurate
• Evaluate costs of purchasing from various suppliers to arrive at the supplier with best pricing
• Contact suppliers/vendors and resolve quote and/or order issues
• Compare vendor/subcontractor invoices to purchase orders, verify quantities and pricing are correct
• Enter material orders from warehouse, charge orders to job code, update stock inventory in our purchasing software
• Answer phones - screens/handles routine and/or noncritical items - passes others on to supervisor
• Maintain filing system in Purchasing department and update records when required
• Order tools for employees and forward deductions to Payroll and A/P
• Cross train and assist in other administrative positions as needed
• Other duties as assigned

  Requirements

  Familiar with computer based programing such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

  2+ years Purchasing Agent experience

Electrician and Electrical experience preferred

Work schedule is 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Overtime may be required.
