The Role.

We are now looking for an Finance Manager to be an integral member of the attractions Finance Team. You are responsible to assist the Financial Controller in overseeing all accounting functions for the attraction. Duties include:

  • Production of monthly and annual management accounts, plus annual statutory accounts for the business in time with Merlin accounting timetable.
  • Management of the premises, cash control and auditing procedures.
  • Ensure all expenditure and income is properly accounted for in the correct accounting period.
  • Liaison between Merlin Central Finance, Financial Controller and General Manager for all issues relating to Management accounts, Capital Expenditure and Cash Flow Reporting.
  • Ensure Compliance with local financial, fiscal and statutory legislation.
  • Implementation of suitable finance and payroll systems.
  • To carry out any other duties in line with the post as may be reasonably requested.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance of fixed asset register.
  • Working with the General Manager and attraction management team, monitor the performance and duties of cashiers and the treasury function. Ensure the secure management of all monies and other payment methods. Report any discrepancies, carrying out audits on a timely basis.
  • Control and review of purchase order accruals procedure working with the manager, then to be signed off by the General Manager.
  • Ensure controls are in place to monitor and secure stock.
  • Ensure all sales invoices are issued as appropriate, reconciled to monthly reports.
  • Ensure robust credit control procedures are in place, and timely collection of sales ledger balances.
  • Administration and control of petty cash. Review of weekly returns for General Manager’s approval.
  • Responsible for cash and banking reconciliation.
  • Assist General Manager with budget setting process.
  • Perform monthly accounts reviews in conjunction with the Financial Controller, General Manager and relevant Heads of Department. Ensure that a system exists for the tracking of expenditure to monitor performance against expenditure budgets.
  • Creation of Business plan, Capital Plan and budget submissions and weekly forecasting.
  • Working with the Operations manager to implement training procedures for cashiers. Responsible for ensuring that procedures are up to date and agreed with the internal auditor and to ensure all cashiers are appropriately trained.
  • Ensure direction, personal development and training of any other member of finance team on site.
  • To ensure the compliance and adherence to all health and safety regulations. Have a full understanding of emergency procedures including the security and evacuation of the premises. Ensure that the incident and accident books are used effectively. Ensure first aid kits are maintained and the first aid training needs are met.

Qualifications

4 year Bachelor degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA is also preferred
