Financial Representative Role: 

 

Martin Federal Credit Union is hiring for a Financial Service Representative 
to assist members and potential members with their Credit Union needs directly and through other Member Service representatives; 
provides expertise with respect to more complex Credit Union services such as
•         IRAs,
•         certificates of deposit,
•         electronic funds transfer, 
•         home banking, etc.; 
•         promote and cross-sell services,
•         sets up new accounts, 
•         respond to problems, 
and direct members to the appropriate people. Make phone calls to new members and follow-up with members who were referred for new services in Account Cross-Sell. Display leadership ability.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities for Financial Service Representative:

  •  Assists other Member Service reps with technical problems and questions relating to complicated products and regulations. Refers problems that are beyond their authority to their supervisor, along with their recommendations. Full responsibility of branch operations in absence of manager.
  • Identifies cross-sell opportunities and cross-sells services to members.
  • Acts as liaison between members and various organizations and departments.
  • Assures that appropriate records are maintained and required reports are prepared.
  • Maintains member account information on computer system.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

 

Performance Measurements:

  • 1. To provide friendly, prompt, professional and accurate service and support to all members and associates. (Answering telephone within 5 rings, respond to written correspondence within 2 business day(s), respond to telephone messages within 2 hours, acknowledge members in lobby within 5 minutes). 
  • 2. To insure that all operations for assigned products are in compliance with governing regulations. 
  • 3. To maintain a professional appearance and atmosphere for the department. 
  • 4. To develop and improve knowledge and skills in Member Service Areas. 
  • 5. To ensure compliance with Credit Union's Bank Secrecy Act, Anti-Money Laundering and Customer/Member Identification Programs. 

Financial Representative Requirements:  

  • Candidate must have experience and knowledge in key areas pertaining to financial – banking institutions
  • Minimum of 2 Years Experience in a Banking or Financial Institution
  • Education:  Two year degree preferred

•         Interpersonal Skills A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact. Work involves extensive personal contact with others and/or is usually of a personal or sensitive nature. Work may involve motivating or influencing others. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary. A proven ability to lead. 

•         Other Skills Working knowledge of regulations relating to all Credit Union deposit products (Reg E, Reg CC, Reg D, Truth-in-Savings Act).

•         Able to operate a 10-key calculator, typewriter, and computer keyboard.

•         Must have good communication skills.
