JMT is seeking a Lead Drainage Engineer for the Transportation Department in the Lake Mary, FL office.

Job Responsibilities:

Coordinate with other team members on execution and control on transportation projects to achieve continuity of purpose within scope, budget, and schedules from project pursuit through final design

  • Serve as the lead drainage technical liaison with clients on project efforts
  • Participate in oral presentations, prepare technical proposals, scope of services, staff hour estimate, and assist with negotiations
  • Perform hydrology/hydraulic analysis for the design and construction of transportation and flood control projects
  • Evaluate existing site conditions and prepare innovative cost effective drainage concepts or design solutions
  • Be responsible for drainage design, including but not limited to, the design of storm sewers systems, cross drains, bridge deck drainage, roadside ditches, treatment and attenuation ponds, spread and scour analysis, and preparation of BHRs
  • Coordinate efforts of assigned design team to ensure completeness and accuracy of design effort

Required Skills

  • Ability to participate as a team player and work with other Departments within the organization
  • Proficient in Microstation and Geopak
  • Excellence in written and verbal communication
  • Experience with FDOT and Florida Water Management District drainage design and permitting criteria
  • Proficient with ASAD or Geopak drainage and AdICPR software

Required Experience

  • BS in Engineering
  • Florida PE license or the ability to obtain within 4 months
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience preparing drainage design for Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) projects
  • Experience permitting drainage design projects with Florida Water Management Districts
