JMT’s Lake Mary office is looking for a highly motivated individual to join and help develop our transportation design business.

Responsible for design of transportation/highway design projects under the guidance of an experienced Project Manager.  Candidate will assist in maintaining existing, and building new Client relationships. Client contact, marketing, development of proposal and design team management is included in the responsibilities of this position. Candidate plans, develops, and coordinates the design of transportation/highway design and Design-Build related projects, but may be involved in other design projects. Has full technical responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing and coordinating assignments. Maintains positive and pro-active relationships with individuals within and outside the organization. Communicates with internal and external Clients by fostering teamwork and professionalism. Knowledgeable in using industry accepted engineering and highway design software. Performs calculations. Acts as a technical advisor to less experienced engineers.

Candidate is expected to perform engineering tasks in the transportation/highway engineering field through application of relevant design criteria, standards and processes with limited supervision.  The candidate will be expected to work on multiple design projects, and assist in the preparation of Requests for Proposals.

Required Skills

 

  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office, MicroStation, and GEOPAK Excellent written and oral communication skills

Required Experience

 

  • BSCE in civil engineering from ABET accredited engineering program Florida registered Professional Engineer or ability to become licensed in the State within 1 year 4 - 8 years experience in highway design projects for the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT)
