Print - Sheetfed Feeder Operator - Pre Press

Summary and Essential Functions of the Job:

The sheetfed feeder operator works closely with the sheetfed press operator to prepare make-readies for jobs and keep the press supplied with all of the necessary materials for the job. 

Essential Functions:  The essential job functions include, however, are not limited to those duties listed below.  There may be other duties assigned by the Management Team, at any time.

• Review the job ticket and prepare the necessary materials
• Supply press with necessary materials such as paper, ink and plates
• Set up paper and adjust feeder as necessary
• Loads and operates feeder
• Loads ink in fountains
• Assist press operator in hanging plates
• Assist sheetfed press operator in make-ready
• Complete rule down for press operators review and approval
• Assist in production of job as directed by press operator until job is completed
• Winds and turns stock
• Returns unused supplies to appropriate area
• Washes up press
• Maintain clean and safe work environment around press at all times
• Perform all duties in accordance with Company policy, departmental procedures and safe working habits
• Assist with the interim management regulated hazardous and non-hazardous waste steams consistent with county, State of Florida, and federal environmental regulations

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Ability to work well as a team member
• Ability to effectively communicate with others in a consistent and concise manner
• Ability to work under pressure and support the daily printing process
• Ability to read, write and understand written and verbal instructions
• Ability to perform basic math

Physical Requirements:

• Mobility to access the building, to move within the plant
• Ability to lift 50 pounds unassisted
• Ability to bend, stand and stretch in the course of performing the duties of the position over a 12-hour shift

Required Experience:

• Minimum of five years experience operating the feeder on a multiple-color sheetfed press with coating

Training and License(s) Required:

• Annual Hazardous Waste Generator Management Training.
