SUMMARY OF POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide support to Lending Operations Team and Branch Team Members to provide timely loan decisions, ensuring compliance with credit union policies, procedures, and government regulations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Meet or exceed the following essential duties and responsibilities:
REVIEW ELECTRONIC APPLICATIONS:
- Obtain loan applications from Internet, Email, Home Banking and LSI.
- Process, decision, and fund loans according to credit union policy and procedures.
- Ensure loan errors are within credit union policy and guidelines.
- Policy and/or procedure error ratios must be within acceptable ranges.
- Delinquency ratio must be within acceptable standards.
APPROVAL RATIO:
- Review each electronically submitted loan application for a potential approval and/or counter offer. Applications may be approved for amounts and/or terms other than what was originally requested. Requires lender to demonstrate sound lending decisions as well as the ability to “think outside the box” as needed.
- Must maintain an average monthly approval ratio as set by the lending manager.
FUNDING:
- Fund applications to meet and/or exceed the annually established departmental goals. Loans funded can originate in lending department or as captures from other offices.
SERVICE AND SUPPORT:
- Must present a professional image and proper personal appearance according to credit union standards.
- Follow the Integrity Service process with all internal and external members.
- Provide information, instruction, assistance and/or advice to Members and Team Members in a professional manner via email/phone/in person.
REPORT AND REVIEW:
- Maintain monthly report of all electronic applications submitted and any other month end reports as assigned.
- Review declined applications to identify missed opportunities and possible training issues for lenders.
- Summarize monthly and report all findings to the Lending Manager.
- Complete monthly audit review of loan packets for all loans funded, reviewing for errors/omissions and verifying receipt of all documents.
COMPLEXITY OF WORK: Requires accuracy and repetitiveness, strong communication and observations skills; ability to read and interpret specific directions. Must be able to make decisions from information presented from others; capable of understanding regulatory items; able to provide instruction to others.

REGULAR ATTENDANCE is required.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- High School graduate or equivalent
- Demonstrated verbal and written communications skills
- Demonstrated telephone etiquette skills
- Entry level data processing/typing experience
- Entry level Excel knowledge
- Minimum 1 year teller experience and 3 years OFCU Member Relations experience with Tier 3 or higher lending authority or related experience / displaying accuracy, professionalism, courtesy, and knowledge of applicable Federal Regulations
- Demonstrated knowledge of Credit Union Policies

- Core system training
- Integrity Service training
- Monitoring for and reporting suspicious activity and complying with all Bank Secrecy Act requirements, including completion of annual training
LANUGUAGE SKILLS:
- Ability to read, speak, and write in English proficiently; speak effectively to team members and vendors in person and over the phone
- Fluent in Spanish is helpful but not required
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to use calculator for all mathematical functions
REASONING ABILITY:
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Must be able to read and interpret general policies and procedures and/or government regulations
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
