Reedy Creek Improvement District anticipates that it will conduct assessments for MARC Paramedic. Though there is not a current job vacancy, this assessment is in place to create an eligible hiring list for future openings. Assessments are anticipated to take place in January 2017, and we will invite only those who submit resumes that demonstrate having the listed minimum requirements.

CLASSIFICATION: MARC Paramedic

HOURS: 40 Hours per week with 8, 10, 12, or 16 hour shifts or some combination thereof.

REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum Required Documents (copies required):
  • Florida Driver License
  • Florida Paramedic certificate
  • BLS Provider
  • ACLS Provider
  • EVOC (or equivalent)

Additional Documents (copies required - if applicable):

  • BLS Instructor
  • ACLS Instructor
  • Basic Trauma Life Support (or equivalent)

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Current State of Florida Paramedic certificate required upon application; EMTs will not be considered. Enrollment in PM school or pending testing will not be considered. Orange County Paramedic certificate will be required within 6 months of hire date. BLS Provider, and ACLS Provider certification is required. Must have Emergency Vehicle Operator Course (EVOC) or equivalent. Must be a high school graduate or possess a GED (An Associates Degree from an accredited college or university is highly desirable). Must possess excellent written and oral communications skills
(multilingual skills are desirable). Must possess a valid Florida Driver License and maintain insurability under the District's commercial vehicle coverage. You must possess a State of Florida Paramedic certification to apply. The state of Florida does not recognize national registry. Unsolicited resumes for EMT will not be considered.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Administers life support care, to sick and injured persons in a pre-hospital setting as authorized, assigned and directed
by the District.

DRIVING REQUIREMENTS:
Must possess a valid Florida State Driver's license and maintain eligibility under the District's commercial vehicle
program.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
While performing the duties of this job, an employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, touch, speak, hear, and see. An employee is occasionally required to bend, kneel, reach, twist, carry, climb, push and pull.
An employee must lift and/or move small articles and occasionally lift objects up to 20 pounds. An employee must demonstrate fine motor skills and to be able to operate vehicles and other equipment.

An employee is occasionally required to work in heat, cold and wet/damp conditions and to navigate uneven and/or outdoor terrain. Certain positions may require work above ground or in enclosed spaces. Certain positions may have requirements of 50 pounds maximum lifting with frequent lift/carry up to 25 pounds. Positions requiring strength demands in the Heavy and/or Very Heavy category have detailed physical performance
analyses available for review. 

PAY: Minimum rate: $16.59 hour.
