This is a newly created position for Miller's Ale House.   The Director, Culinary Operations Excellence helps foster the execution and culture of culinary operations excellence.  The Director will lead culinary process improvements, recipe enhancements and simplifications, and other efficiencies.  In this role, the Director will collaborate with the Sr. Director, Culinary Innovation and other teams such as Supply Chain Management, Operations and Training on optimal menu execution strategy through process improvement in restaurant BOH operations. 


  • Provides subject matter expertise in the development of culinary and product process improvements through testing, refining, evaluation and implementation of preparation techniques, processes or tools for existing or new product development
  • Oversees plans for implementation, training and testing of culinary technique with Operations and Training; develops test network and annual plan; partners with Training to design and/or update culinary training programs
  • Partners with Senior Director/Culinary Innovation and Training in the development of recipe translation by simplifying steps for executional replication; ensures recipes are clear, concise and easily understood by a wide audience
  • Partner with BOH Managers, GMs, RMs, and DVPs to deliver upon consistent high quality food to our guests
  • Sets strategy to develop processes that facilitate better cost management as it relates to the kitchen, accurate production labor standards forecasts (average production times, reasonable expectancies) and cook times/line flow development

Seeks operator feedback, visits restaurants and/or attends Operations meetings to gain insight into potential enhancements to systems, methods and procedures
