Libertate Insurance is looking for a financial staff accountant to maintain all of the financial records and administrative, non-insurance related functions of the agency.
Essential Functions:
- Assists in maintaining security procedures for the agency’s financial records, cash on hand, and all equipment.
- Assists the Director of Business Services in managing the company’s established credit and collection policies and procedures and keeping bad debts to less than 1% of agency-billed commissions.
- Ensures that all accounting systems, procedures, and insurance company regulations are communicated to and complied with by all agency personnel.
- Establishes, prepares and maintains financial reports. Distributes reports within three days after end of month.
- Manages cash on hand.
- Manages chart of accounts.
- Handles all account payables and vendor invoicing.
- Assists in handling all tax reporting requirements so that no tax payment will incur a late penalty.
- Maintains all compliance reporting to outside agencies.
- Maintains and audits special accounts: (e.g. petty cash, workers compensation, depreciation, and agency and direct bill transactions).
- Prepares journal entries on customer accounts when requested by authorized parties.
- Assists the Customer Service Representatives with invoicing problems.
