The Medical Assistant II assists physicians with patient examination, procedures and treatment. Responsible for patient histories, routine lab procedures and preparation of specimens for transport to the lab. Follows up on test orders and reports results to the physician and patient, provides and maintains patient education materials, maintains medical equipment, inventories clinical and drug supplies. May obtain clinical, financial and demographic information. Create and maintain patient charts. File charts and reports. Performs other duties as assigned. Required certification include Certified Medical Assistant or Registered Medical Assistant, if applicable by office. Required Experience includes 2 years with Medical Assistant Technical Education, 2 years with Certified or Registered Medical Assistant certification, 3 years in lieu of Certified or Registered Medical Assistant certification.

The person hired for this position will perform both back office duties (room patients, obtain vitals, injections, labs, EKG, assist physician with procedures, etc.) AND front office duties (check in/out, collect co-pays, verify insurance, schedule appointments, return patient calls, answer phones, check voicemail, etc.) wherever needed.
