Event Manager (Seasonal) - Special Event Management

  • Lead cross-functional teams, internal to marketing and external, through all phases of Special Events, including creative planning, development, budget management, production/execution and post-event evaluation/recap

  • Responsible and accountable for delivering all aspects of the event within the approved financial scope, and that the overall event objectives, deliverables and timelines are met and exceed expectations

  • Serve as main communications point for all key stakeholders on event-related details

  • Research and gather information needed to make informed decisions throughout all phases and recommend future improvements

  • Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices and other information beneficial to role and leverage that knowledge to improve events

  • Participate in creative sessions to develop new event concepts and options

  • Assist in the budget development and management ranging from hundreds of thousands to multi-million dollars

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key internal stakeholders and partners throughout the Parks and Resorts segment

  • Cultivate and maintain effective external relationships with vendors and other essential partners

  • Develop and present creative and logistical plans/recaps to internal partners and Disney executives

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 - 5+ years of special event experience in a similar event management role

  • Demonstrated organizational, planning and project management skills

  • Demonstrated ability to lead multiple complex projects with cross-functional teams

  • Effective oral and written communication skills

  • Demonstrated ability to present with confidence to all senior leadership levels

  • Demonstrated creative and strategic thinking skills

  • Possess knowledge and effectively leverage trends and technology in events, maximizing the reach and relevancy to the audience

  • Demonstrated skills in relationship management with the ability to develop professional partnerships in all aspects of the position that result in stable, consistent, reliable, and courteous communication

  • Able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing multiple projects with varying priorities and deadlines

  • Strong computer proficiency including: Microsoft Office &/or Mac [i.e., Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Keynote]

  • Willingness to travel [domestically] and work a varied schedule that may include evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior Disney experience and/or knowledge of the Disney brand

  • Knowledge and experience working with digital technologies and Public/Media Relations and Public Affairs

  • Bilingual/Multilingual abilities a plus

Required Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business, Communications or equivalent work experience
