SUMMARY: Provides general assistance with Technical Entertainment show/event operations in order to ensure show quality and a positive guest experience


  • Responsible for the daily technical operation of standard attraction based shows or events.
  • Responsible to assist with lighting, staging, operations, Special Effects and audio to ensure timely completion of all technical duties within their assigned venue or event
  • Accountable to strictly adhere to all policies and procedures, as defined by the Entertainment Department, governing the safe operation of all technical equipment and pyrotechnic devices within the assigned venue or event.
  • Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established Universal Orlando policy, procedures, training and Team Member involvement activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Practices the Universal Orlando Service Expectations Set the Stage, Know Your Stuff, Wow'em Now, Be a Hero. Adheres to Universal Orlando's appearance and wardrobe guidelines. Provides guests with accurate information. Practices “Look, Focus, Act” by continuously scanning the work environment and recognizing the service needs of guests and fellow Team Members. Takes ownership and demonstrates active listening and effective questioning to identify suitable, personalized options to efficiently meet or preferably exceed the service expectations of our guests or Team Members. Applies service recovery, as warranted.


To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required:

Consistent attendance is a job requirement.


  • High school degree or GED is required.


  • One to three years experience with the professional theme park/theater industry and prior knowledge of lighting/ audio, video equipment preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


  • Valid Florida state driver's license.


While performing the duties of this job, the individual is required to:

  • Regularly (2/3 of the time or more) stand; walk; talk or hear; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; climb or balance; and reach with hands and arms; lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Occasionally (1/3 of the time or less) sit for prolonged periods.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include: Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less); Distance Vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more); Color Vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors); Peripheral Vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left; and right while eyes are fixed on a given point); Depth Perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships); Ability to Adjust Focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus).


While performing the duties of this job, the individual is required to:

  • Regularly (2/3 of the time or more) exposed to wet, humid conditions (non-weather); work near moving mechanical parts; outdoor weather conditions; and extreme heat (non-weather).
  • Frequently (1/3 to 2/3 of the time) exposed to work in high, precarious places.
  • Occasionally (1/3 of the time or less) exposed to extreme cold (non-weather); and risk of electrical shock.
  • While performing this job, the noise level in the work environment is very loud. (Noise when raised conversation is needed)
