The Sr. Manager, Digital Marketing will be responsible for the monitoring, planning, testing and improving the online purchasing experience to drive conversion rate and revenue across all of the Universal Orlando online stores. The person will partner with analytics, marketing, consumer insights, web production and technology teams to create an unparalleled shopping experience that delivers on the organizational goals. In collaboration with other teams this person will be responsible for identifying key performance indicators and applying conversion rate optimization tactics; which include but are not limited to A/B testing, personalization, product merchandising and consumer insights.

Specific duties and responsibilities of the Sr. Manager, Marketing - Digital Marketing includes but are not limited to, the following:

  • Leadership
    • Lead the effort to develop online ecommerce strategies that optimize Universal Orlando Resort's direct-to-consumer pre-arrival marketing and sales channel,, to meet or exceed online business goals.
    • Be the resident expert on the capabilities of the functionality on Utilize that functionality to its full capability to drive optimal results
  • Marketing Strategy and Planning
    • Manage ticket merchandising strategy for based on strategic priorities. Apply testing strategies to optimize ecommerce tactics and provide business performance metrics and recommendations on how to improve program results.
    • Build and accelerate a testing culture with cross functional marketing ream through continuous improvement processes
    • Understand and activate guest needs through analysis of user behavior and secondary/primary research
  • Project Management
    • Responsible for enhancing the online customer shopping experience on and mobile to drive increases in conversion and attendance.
    • Serve as Marketing liaison / business lead to IT for website development projects - define and communicating business / functional requirements for the development of website functionality that effectively enables marketing strategies on e.g. personalization, product development / placement.
    • Insure user experience is optimized by utilizing industry best practices in usability, research, etc.
  • Resource Management
    • Responsible for reviewing and monitoring competitive websites and trends in ecommerce, their particular specialty area/vertical and website design/functionality. Bring the organization's attention to new ideas / technologies for as they emerge.
    • Act as marketing team representative to various internal 'clients' who rely on to advance their business needs.
  • Accountability and Reporting
    • Develop standard reporting and analysis that effectively communicates to senior leadership the results and business impact of online initiatives.
    • Analyze product performance and customer feedback and respond quickly to diagnose and correct any problems.

SCOPE: The Sr. Manager, Digital Marketing will play a critical role in the further development, implementation and management of and associated marketing activities for Universal Orlando Resort. They will be responsible for managing the overall guest experience of the website to insure optimal results in terms of conversion, guest engagement and satisfaction, and data collection. They will provide the necessary thought leadership, project leadership, strategy development, business requirements, and prioritization necessary to create and launch website initiatives that deliver against critical business goals.

  • Contributed to building brand equity, establishing a positive customer experience, and building brand loyalty through website experience execution.
  • Experience leading the evolution of an online product development lifecycle over multiple site releases.
  • Possess exceptional understanding of the best practices for site usability and user interface design.
  • Understand the importance of introducing relevant site features that support a CRM approach to customer acquisition.
  • Must be conversant in the latest technical standards and best practices in interactive product design and development.
  • Present a successful track record partnering with his/her organization's information technology organization in the development and launch of websites and website features/functionality
  • An extraordinary team player that thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth, entrepreneurial environment where quality and speed of decision making and execution are critical
EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree required, MBA a plus.

  • 7 - 10 years of experience in eCommerce and/or Product Management preferably with consumer-facing, ecommerce site(s), name brand travel or retail with emphasis on strategy, digital marketing and user experience.
  • The right mix of experience in Marketing, Technology and/or Product Development is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience in presenting to senior management.
  • Equally effective and influential communicator in formal and informal settings with senior executives, peers, and potential business partners.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at once with a sense of urgency required to work in a deadline driven environment.
  • Diligent, flexible, resourceful, independent worker with a strong work ethic.
  • Strong communicator capable of delivering concise messages to various audiences.
  • Positive attitude, team player with professional demeanor.
  • Intellectual curiosity and strong willingness to learn.
  • Interactive product development experience that has materially contributed to growing online revenue within the context of a consumer oriented ecommerce business.
  • Experience with developing and managing a marketing plan and department budget
