Our Exciting Work Environment

The Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex houses amazing exhibits, tours and inspiring shows that immerse you into the past, present and future of the space program.  Our operations include food and beverage, retail, educational programs, tours and the Astronaut Hall of Fame. 

The Opportunity

The successful candidate will be able to perform all necessary job functions in a fast paced environment. This includes preparing menu items for banquets, employee lounge, special events, etc. The candidate will prepare all items utilizing the Standard Operating Procedures and will maintain a clean work environment. Sanitation is extremely important and all HACCP logs and procedures are to be followed and completed in a timely manner consistent with company policies. The successful candidate will give direction to other crewmembers when necessary and help to maintain a safe work area.  

Responsibilities

Note: Individual may not perform all of the responsibilities listed at a specific point in time, but will perform all of the responsibilities over an extended period of time.

1. Prepares menu items for banquet production kitchen, and other menu items as required by management. 
2. Work in fast pace grab and go operation with other crewmembers preparing menu items in all areas as required by management.
3. Prepares food according to SOP and uses proper presentation and sanitation methods on a consistent basis.
4. Maintains cleanliness of all equipment in cooking areas according to location.
5. Must be able to guide other crewmembers in kitchen locations according to management standards.
6. Maintains all logs consistent with HACCP sanitation plan. 

Qualifications

Education: High school graduate or equivalent. 

Experience: 2 years or more experience in a high volume kitchen. 

Skills: Positive approach with customer and sense of urgency to complete all assignments. Be able to work in a fast paced environment and complete tasks on time.

Certificate, License, Registration, etc.:

1. Valid Driver’s License
2. ACF certification (desirable).

Physical Requirements

This position requires lifting up to 50 pounds. This position requires reaching above one's head. This position requires working in hot temperatures for long periods of time. This position requires candidate to stand and/or walk for long periods of time. 

Work Environment:  May be required to work in hot and humid conditions. Must be able to work inside and outside with exposure to heat.
