There is more to being a great Bartender than knowing drink recipes. Outstanding customer service skills and the ability to understand and extend proactive services are an important part of being a Universal Orlando Bartender. Bartending is a social job, and Bartenders must be outgoing, good listeners, be able to multi-task, and have a high level of physical stamina.

Bartenders at Universal Orlando are responsible for:

  • Ensuring adherence to the Florida State Liquor Statutes at all times.

  • Preparing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages for guests and for waitpersons to serve to guests.

  • Providing excellent guest service by interacting and conversing with guests.

  • Following all established recipes and procedures in alcoholic beverage preparation.

  • Possessing full knowledge of all products available.

  • Following HACCP procedures and ensure all portions and pours are accurate.

  • Operating cash register accurately and ringing all items into the POS system. Following all established cash handling procedures.

  • Changing and maintaining draft beer and liquor dispensing system and ensuring work area is well organized and kept clean.

  • Understanding and actively participating in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established Universal Orlando policy, procedures, training and Team Member involvement activities.

  • Performing other duties as assigned.

To perform the role of a Bartender successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.

  • Consistent attendance and punctuality is required.

  • High school degree or GED is preferred.

  • 1-3 years bartending experience required; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Ability to complete on-the-job training: Alcohol Awareness - 1 hour; Chemical Safety Certification - 1 hour; cash handling, compressed gas, back safety, HazCom, Hearing Conservation - existing course time.

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.

  • Ability to write simple correspondence.

  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Comfortable initiating conversation between guests and Team Members.

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals and ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.

  • Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.

The physical demands described below are representative of those that must be met by an individual to successfully perform the essential functions of the Bartender job.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the individual is regularly required to lift greater than 25 lbs. or more; repetitive motion (extending reaching, pushing/pulling, bending, twisting greater than 30x's per hour).

  • Be exposed to noise (example: having to raise voice to communicate to Team Members nearby).

  • Work with chemicals and/or chemical related fumes.

The work environment characteristics described below are representative of those an individual encounters while performing the essential functions of the Bartender job.
