I.T. Technical Support Specialist
Provides technical assistance concerning computer hardware and software and telephone equipment issues by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Acts as a Help Desk coordinator and operator for logging, tracking, and resolving customer service requests.
Ensures employees and supervisors are updated on the general status of problems.
Performs diagnosis and corrections of technical and operational problems. Refers special issues to appropriate personnel or vendors.
Supports IMS Unit in preparing for unit moves within the agency; Provides statistical information when requested.
Develops expertise with various equipment and software applications through in-house and outside training.
Depending on assignment, may maintain, install, and/or repair mobile data computer (MDC) systems and related software.
Depending on assignment, may create and modify network user and email accounts.
Education and/or Experience:
Associates degree (A. A. or A.S.) in information technology or related field; or a recognized industry standard computer certification (e.g., MCSE, A+, CNE, CCNA, Microsoft Windows XP, Vista, or Windows 7); or two (2) years of information technology experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Salary: Commensurate with Experience.
