Supervises and coordinates the activities and personnel of Risk Management.
Ensures that workers’ compensation claims are being handled properly and resolves any related problems. Maintains confidentiality of sensitive employee documents.
Develops and manages the incident/accident/injury reporting program. Coordinates with affected departments, agents, vendors and insurers as required to ensure the accurate and timely reporting of incidents, accidents, injuries, and other potential liabilities. Gathers information for third party administrator and staff attorneys. Reviews, inputs and tracks data and maintains related files.
Ensures various programs (i.e., Random Drug Testing, Family Medical Leave, Light Duty assignments, Emergency Leave donations) are handled effectively and according to policy.
Reviews and processes bills for various risk management programs including Occupational Health Services, Drug Testing, and risk management safety equipment. Tracks related budget expenditures.
Oversees and coordinates the application process and claims for various benefits including Life Insurance, Long Term Disability, FRS Disability and Line of Duty Deaths.
Communicates with agency personnel to answer and solve risk management related concerns or questions.
Responds to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
Researches and recommends ways of improving and ensuring employee safety.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) or equivalent in Human Resources, Public Administration, Business Administration or a closely related field; and four (4) years of risk management and/or workers’ compensation experience. Supervisory experience preferred. Master’s Degree in Human Resources, Public Administration, Business Administration or a closely related field may substitute for one year of experience.
SALARY:
$45,988 - $61,921/year, based on experience
