SUMMARY: Responsible for performing preventative, diagnostic, and corrective maintenance of all ride and show control network systems; provides technical support in the day-to-day park operation of large servers controlling the ride and show network and associated network equipment, human maintenance interfaces, and wireless technology.


  • Responsible for research, analysis, design and implementation of systems and components to provide immediate and long term solutions that will improve operational reliability, safety and serviceability of ride and show control network equipment through improved diagnostics and engineering approved software and hardware revisions.
  • Responds quickly to downtime situations, troubleshoots for cause and performs repairs related to show quality and ride recovery including fault analysis.
  • Research and design computer systems to handle closed loop network systems including human maintenance interfaces and ride and show network safety systems.
  • Responsible for the troubleshooting and repair of large server computer systems including RAID servers, fiber optic systems, wireless access points and Ethernet based systems.
  • Responsible for utilizing a systematic approach to researching defective parts/systems using technical manuals, technical library and the CMMS system; test start up integration of ride and show control network systems and assist PQS trainer when required.
  • Performs modifications to ride and show network systems as directed by management or engineering; performs diagnostics and repairs to all ride and show network equipment as assigned.
  • Perform regularly scheduled inspections and preventative maintenance on all ride and show network systems; provide data entry into the CMMS system, logging of inspections, corrective actions, and/or repairs made while listing parts needed to implement repairs. Also, complete hard copy inspections and physical logbook entries.
  • Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

SCOPE: Responsible for troubleshooting, repair and design of ride and show network systems in all venues resort-wide.


To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required:

  • High school degree or GED is required; Technical school certification and/or an Associate's degree is preferred.


  • 6-8 years of experience in troubleshooting and repair of complex information technology network equipment or equivalent combination of education and experience required, including advanced knowledge in the set-up and ongoing maintenance of network systems.
  • Computer experience with proficient knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, Linux Systems, Cisco Systems, C+, and Visual Basic preferred.
  • Experience in designing and integration of various network systems including IP networks required.
  • Completion of orientation checklist into CMMS system required; applicable regulatory training including confined space, forklift, heavy equipment and Lock Out Tag Out required


  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Routing and Switching preferred.

(clear vision at 20 feet or more); use color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors); use peripheral vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point); use depth perception (vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships); adjust focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus while in changing light conditions e.g., sunshine to indoor or dark conditions); work in varied light conditions including low or diminished lighting; maintain alertness and attentiveness up to 4 hours while working varying hours; maintain concentration/focus (e.g., ability to interpret the work environment and make decisions on predetermined operating policies and procedure).
  • Occasionally (1/3 of the time or less) work at heights for prolonged periods of time including heights with or without railings or over open pits greater than 4 feet; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; reach, pull, push with hands and arms above/below head; repeat motions more than twice per minute; work in an environment subject to vibrations; lift/push up to 25 pounds with control; work in an environment with flashing lights including strobe lamps; work in small or tight spaces; ability to smell.


While performing the duties of this job, the individual is required to:

  • Frequently (1/3 to 2/3 of the time) use a motorized company vehicle or a leased or personal vehicle for company business; have a valid Florida state driver's license.
  • Occasionally (1/3 of the time or less) work in wet, humid conditions (non-weather); work in outdoor weather conditions to include direct sunlight, heat or cold; work with aerosols (spray paints, brake cleaner); be exposed to bodily fluids (blood, vomit); be exposed to lasers or radiation equipment; perform maintenance or servicing of powerized (energized) equipment (pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical); LOTO; be exposed to loud noise levels (noise when raised conversation is needed).
