The Patient Referral Specialist obtains referrals and authorizations for BayCare Medical Group practice offices. Utilizes practice management system and other software to gain information to assist in processing referrals. Understands and works with various insurance payer rule sets, payer manuals and assist providers, practices and staff in timely turnaround of authorizations and referrals. Cross trains to assist practices in other front and back office functions. Performs other duties as assigned. Familiarity & ability to use Various software including Availity, Emdeon and other systems.

Required Experience includes 1 years in Healthcare and experience obtaining authorizations for a Specialty office; an addition to Preferred Experience using on-line payer authorization systems.

Neurology and /or Behavioral Health experience helpful
