Parade Drivers and Spotters:

Candidates must be available afternoons and evenings from November 21st , 2016 - January 1st 2017, with late night rehearsals in late November/early December. Candidates must be available all major holidays including Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day.

Mardi Gras Parade Drivers and Spotters

Mardi Gras event dates will range from February 4th, 2017 through March 24th, 2017 with late night rehearsals in early February.

SUMMARY: Promote a positive guest experience by participating in an Entertainment Produced Event as a costumed driver in a non scripted role.


  • Responsible for motivating & entertaining the crowd by driving a motorcycle, ATV or automobile, in costume, during Events produced by the Entertainment Division of Universal Orlando.
  • Responsible to manipulate mechanical props as directed by Entertainment Production Management.
  • Responsible to follow directed performance guidelines and techniques established by Entertainment Production Management
  • Accountable for following costume care guidelines in order to maintain the integrity of the performance and provides communication to management regarding costume problems, issues and concerns.
  • Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Practices the Universal Orlando Service Expectations Set the Stage, Know Your Stuff, Wow'em Now, Be a Hero. Adheres to Universal Orlando's appearance and wardrobe guidelines. Provides guests with accurate information. Practices “Look, Focus, Act” by continuously scanning the work environment and recognizing the service needs of guests and fellow Team Members. Takes ownership and demonstrates active listening and effective questioning to identify suitable, personalized options to efficiently meet or preferably exceed the service expectations of our guests or Team Members. Applies service recovery, as warranted.


To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required:

  • LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
  • REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
  • OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Emergency Repair, Parts Assembly, and Forklift Operations experience preferred.

Consistent attendance is a job requirement.


  • High school degree or GED is required.


  • 0-1 Year: Experience within the Professional Theme Park/Theater Industry Preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


  • Valid Florida Driver's License required


While performing the duties of this job, the individual is required to:

  • Regularly (2/3 of the time or more) stand; walk; sit; talk or hear; lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; reach with hands and arms.
  • Frequently (1/3 to 2/3 of the time) lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include: Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less), Distance Vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more), Peripheral Vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point), Depth Perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships), Ability to Adjust Focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus).
  • Required to stand or walk for up to 60 minutes at a time.


While performing the duties of this job, the individual is required to:

  • Regularly (2/3 of the time or more) be exposed to wet, humid conditions (non-weather); work near moving mechanical parts, outdoor weather conditions.
  • Frequently (1/3 to 2/3 of the time) be exposed to work in high, precarious places; work in small dark, confined spaces; work around fog and strobe light effects
  • Noise level is loud
