Description

The Central Intake Specialist is responsible for entering new referrals and updates all existing patient information including demographics, insurance and benefit information. Verifies insurance and benefits for all Managed Care and Private Fee for Service Plans. Securing authorization for services provided by Bay care HomeCare from the payers. Responsible for selecting the correct payer codes to provide accurate intake information. Understands medical criteria for securing all required information from the referral source. Responsible for entering the appropriate financial information including benefits, deductibles, co-pays, coinsurance, out of pocket, an other related costs into the HC+ system. Responsible for accurate ICD9 coding.
