Die Cutter - Folder Gluer Operator

Summary:  The die cutter-folder gluer operator will set up and operate the machine(s) to ensure proper product requirements in support of the needs of the overall printing operation. 

Primary Functions and Responsibilities:

The essential functions include, however, are not limited to:

• Set up feeder, feed table, lock dies, internal stripper, and operates flatbed die cutter
• Responsible for Moll folder-gluer set up and operation including M/R, Run, and troubleshooting to maintain product quality 
• Performs preventive maintenance, including minor repairs, adjusting/​modifying dies, and the use of matrix when necessary
• Uses pre-make-ready tables
• Responsible for setting up multiple glue heads and maintaining hot melt system
• Nicks and prepares dies
• Level the cutting by using different thickness of spotting tapes
• Perform quality checks, approvals, and in-process inspections
• Prepares loads, loads material, and removes loads of material from the machine
• Inspect finished dies for smoothness, contour conformity and defects
• Lift, position, and secure machined parts on surface plates or worktables
• Performs other job duties as assigned​

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift 50 lbs unassisted
• Ability to lift, carry, push pull and bend frequently
• Ability to move through the facility to consult with management and monitor work progress
• Mechanically inclined
• Ability to use simple measurement tools
• Ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a machine to exact specifications
• Resourceful problem solver
• Self-motivated
• Strong work ethic

• Education or Training Requirements:

Required:

•  Minimum 3-5 years experience operating a Die Cutting machine in the printing or packaging industry

Preferred:

• Bobst experience preferred
• High school degree or equivalent
• Folding carton knowledge
