FUNCTION: Mobile Crisis Response Service (MCRS) Supervisor has training and licensure in one of the mental health professions and clinical skill and experience to assess, plan, develop, coordinate, and provide crisis intervention services to program clients with mental illnesses and co-occurring disorders who come into contact with Law Enforcement Officers. The MCRS Supervisor will recruit and train other licensed clinicians to work as on-call staff for the provision of co-response services.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Follow contractual requirements of the Grant Holder (Lake County Board of County Commissioners) for the planning and implementation of the Mobile Crisis Response Service.
  2. Develop collaborative relationships with all project stakeholders to ensure success of the project.
  3. Develop operational LSBC policies and procedures for MCRS; collaborate with LE agencies and County in development of cross-system procedures; co-facilitate Advisory Committee and quarterly meetings with County Grant Manager representative.
  4. Direct the day-to-day administrative and clinical operations of the MCRS program including staff recruitment, interviewing, hiring, work assignments, and orientation and performance supervision according to work rules, regulations, and policies; develop and implement staff orientation and training. Set up and maintain appropriate facility with all necessary equipment available. Devise and manage scheduling of on-call staff work hours to assure appropriate coverage for day and evening and on-call hours. Direct and coordinate the MCRS pilot.
  5. Develop and administer the program budget including line items to purchase necessary equipment. Understand the fiscal and reporting requirements of grants funding the program.
  6. Develop resources and billing opportunities for program sustainability outside of grant funding.
  7. Supervise medical records management assuring maintenance of the medical record in compliance with agency policies, train staff on medical record requirements; regularly review documentation by the staff and supervise individual staff for medical records mastery.
  8. Ensure data collection for the grants as written and contracted with county partners. Cooperate in the data reporting activities at the program, agency, county, state and federal levels.
  9. Carry out and document quality-assurance activities and reviews of use of program services. Develop and maintain program policies and procedures and revise as necessary.
  10. Initiate and maintain relationships, in coordination with other staff, with law-enforcement, courts, community control agencies and other human services agencies, and with informal community resources.
  11. Participate on community committees related to program plan, partnerships and grant requirements.
  12. Perform on-call duty for crisis intervention and for staff supervision and consultation..
  13. Complete all required trainings at orientation and annually. Complete 40 hour Crisis Intervention Team Training for law enforcement and first responders in Lake and Sumter counties. Participate in the provision of CIT training in conjunction with the FCST CIT Coordinator.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

 

  • Education: Master’s degree in nursing, social work, psychiatric rehabilitation, counseling or psychology, or is a psychiatrist; is licensed according to the laws of the state
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years experience with the severe and persistent mental illness population and minimum of one year supervisory experience required.
  • Personal Qualities: A pleasant and friendly manner is vital to satisfactory job performance. Must display patience and understanding people with psychiatric disabilities and difficult customer service situations. Must be alert and vigilant at all times. Dependability and adaptability essential for this position. Must show initiative and be able to work autonomously.
  • Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervises MCRS Team members.
  • Special Factors: Maintains a professional atmosphere. Provides excellent customer service. Maintains good working relationship with center, as well as, facility staff and external agencies. Works with staff psychiatrist to coordinate pharmacological management. Must have an active Florida driver’s license and meet insurance requirements to drive as part of job duties, with clean driving record.
  • Essential Functions: Coordinates and schedules services rendered by the staff. Performs all fiscal management/accounting functions of the facility as assigned. Maintains current records, logs and statistical reports.
  • Staff Development: Completes all administrative and competency requirements in accordance to Individual Training Plan.
