The Quest Team, through quality and innovation, builds communities where people with disabilities achieve their goals. At Quest, the Direct Support Professional (DSP) provides a variety of services to individuals with developmental disabilities. Direct Support Professionals work in a Group Home, Intermediate Care Facility (ICF Home), or Vocational Training Center.  Working under the direction of a Program Manager, Direct Support Professionals provide services which support the lives of the people we serve. In our low ratio, family-like environment, some of the DSP's duties may include:

  • Implement and document training activities as specified in the support plan to include, but not limited to: areas of behavior, self help, daily living, social and leisure skills, community inclusion, physical and nutritional management.
  • Provide positive social and leisure interaction daily.
  • Administer prescribed medications, monitor self-administrations of medications, follow protocol for disposal of medications, maintain medication count and communicate with pharmacy as needed.
  • Follow established protocol for residents' personal care, special dietary requirements and medical needs.
  • Monitor and report as needed any issues related to the personal care and medical needs, including repair needs for wheelchairs or adaptive equipment.
  • Maintain a clean and safe home-like atmosphere while encouraging personal choices.
  • Assess internal and external health and safety issues and correct or report them.
  • Operate a company vehicle/van to transport individuals as requested and complete vehicle/lift inspections prior to operation.
  • Report all incidents of abuse/neglect in accordance with the Disabled Abuse Act, to the abuse registry. 
  • Follow all policies and procedures and other duties as required and requested by supervisors.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Eligible to legally work in the United States.
  • Be at least 18 years of age.
  • Ability to provide proof of a high school diploma or GED.
  • 1 year previous experience working in a medical, psychiatric, nursing home, child care setting and/or with persons who have Developmental Disabilities. College, vocational or technical training equal to 30 semester hours, 45 quarter hours or 720 classroom hours can be substituted for required experience.
  • Ability to successfully complete background check and drug screen.
  • Valid Florida driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to lift 50lbs, walk, bend, squat, turn in the knees, back, wrists and shoulders, grasp with both hands, work on feet for extended periods of time and see and hear with or without correction.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English.
  • Able to work assigned schedule and accommodate shift changes to meet client/staff ratio.

  • Wed- Fri 2pm -10pm, Sat 8am-8pm
  • Wed, Thurs, Fri 2pm-9pm, Sat 7am -9pm 
  • Thurs-Fri 2pm -10pm & Sat 6am-10pm
  • Thurs - Fri 3:30pm - 10pm, Sat 6am - 9pm
  • Sun 6am-10pm, Mon - Wed 2pm-10pm
  • Sun 6am-10pm, Mon, Tues 2pm-10pm
