Professor of Humanities

Seminole State College of Florida is accepting applications for a full-time Humanities Professor in our Foreign Language/Humanities Department beginning Fall Term 2017. This is a bargaining unit position on track for continuing contract. We are seeking dedicated, enthusiastic teaching applicants who exhibit a high degree of professionalism, a strong commitment to our students, and the demonstrated ability to motivate and educate in an engaging manner.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

1. Master’s degree in Humanities from an accredited institution

Or

Master’s degree from an accredited institution with at least 18 graduate hours in the following disciplines:

• American Studies with a Humanities focus

• Classics

• Cultural Studies (e.g. Popular Culture, American Culture, Asian Culture, African American Culture)

• Humanities

• Literature (in English, Modern, and/or Classical Languages e.g. Spanish, Greek, Japanese)

• Philosophy

• Religion/Theology

2. Teaching experience.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Demonstrated understanding of the learning centered approach to teaching.
  2. Experience utilizing technology and innovative pedagogy to deliver exceptional teaching and learning.
