Role and Responsibilities

Provide leadership and oversight of designated projects to ensure that goals and objectives of projects are accomplished within prescribed time frame and budget parameters by performing the following duties through subordinate project superintendents.

  • Reviews and enforces project proposal and project schedule.
  • Assists in plan to ensure time frames are met and project budgets are maintained.
  • Determines by observation if staffing requirements are sufficient and assists in allotment of available resources between other CSD projects.
  • Determines project superintendent for projects and assists in assignment of project site personnel.
  • Confers with project staff to ensure a work plan has been outlined which assigns duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority to best meet schedule and budget.
  • Ensures project progress is on schedule and within prescribed budget.
  • Review daily reports, field conditions, manpower, short term schedules, progress and conditions impacting the project.
  • Review field as-builts to ensure accuracy with plans and specifications.
  • Quality Control all operations of construction to ensure compliance with plans and specifications.
  • Maintain good relationships with project site personnel as well as ensuring communication with client, owner representatives, engineer, and local authorities. 
  • Monitor labor time, equipment and material.
  • Authorize any overtime hours required.
  • Ensure proper coordination with equipment manager.
  • Assist with problem solving.
  • Communicate and enforce at all times safety and health management programs.
  • Demonstrate commitment to an Injury-Free Environment through own actions and mentoring of others.
  • Notify safety team immediately of any incidents, accidents, or insubordination.
  • Ensure daily sub-contractor meetings are occurring.
  • Attend when able client project meetings to ensure communication between project superintendent and client.
  • Look for ways to improve and promote quality.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

OSHA certification, Trench safety, Confined space, MOT, First aid / CPR Certification.

  • Familiarity with requirements of drawings and specifications and with terms and conditions of contracts and purchase orders.
