Professor of Nursing , Maternal Child and Medical Surgical (Altamonte Campus)

Seminole State College of Florida is accepting applications for a full-time Nursing Professor in our Nursing Department at our state of the art Altamonte Springs Campus. We are seeking dedicated, enthusiastic teaching applicants who exhibit a high degree of professionalism, a strong commitment to our students, and the demonstrated ability to motivate and educate in an engaging manner. Graduates of Seminole State College of Florida's Nursing Program have again surpassed state and national averages on their licensure exams, leading the rankings in Central Florida with a 98.95 percent pass rate.

This is a full-time Bargaining Unit Faculty position on track for continuing contract. The standard contract length is 228 days; however, other contract lengths may be available depending on department needs. Faculty responsibilities include teaching and support of student learning; curriculum development; support of college policies and procedures; participation in department and college activities and committees; and engagement with external partners and the community at large.  Works with a diverse student population in a classroom/lab environment in a variety of clinical agencies including hospitals; long-term care facilities and community agencies. 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Master's Degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited institution with 18 graduate hours in Nursing.
  2. Proficiency to teach in Medical Surgical Nursing courses and specifically Foundations of Nursing, Health Assessment, and Nursing Skills.
  3. Previous medical surgical nursing experience.
  4. Licensure to practice Nursing as a Registered Nurse in the State of Florida or eligibility for an unencumbered Florida RN Licensure.
  5. Current CPR certification.
  6. Clinical sites may require additional requirements.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

        1.  Previous teaching experience.

Salary is commensurate with education and experience in accordance with our Collective Bargaining Agreement.
