SUMMARY:Responsible for providing technical support to manufacturing operations by installing, testing, diagnostic trouble shooting and repairing production and production assembly equipment.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:1. Technical responsibility for a broad range of assembly and subassembly operations.2. Interface with Manufacturing Engineering during the purchase of new equipment to ensure serviceability, proper documentation for spare parts and preventive maintenance, compatibility with existing equipment and minimizing one of a kind"machinery and spare parts.3. Solve operating problems by using root cause / corrective action techniques. Equipment maintained may include, but is not limited to: computers, machine controllers (PLCs), machine tools, lasers, welding equipment, electronic test equipment, pneumatics, high pressure gasses, and various hand tools4. Assist in the training of other technical and production personnel, directly or with the assistance of the training specialist in equipment. Cross train technicians on different pieces of equipment, allowing increased flexibility.5. Support manufacturing by providing immediate response to equipment malfunctions.6. Identify mechanical and electrical problems that may require modifications, and submit improvement suggestions to the Technical Support Group through their supervisor.7. Assist manufacturing engineering with the installation of new equipment, and relocating existing equipment as necessary.8. Identify quality/output problems and coordinate problem solving activities at the cell level, or request additional resources to solve more complex problems.9. Recommend changes in the design, process, equipment, or management systems that will improve quality and/or productivity.10. Participate in new product and new line launches. Provide improvement recommendations to facilitate these launches.11. Transact the removal and return of parts form stock, and identify new parts requirements.12. Understand and comply with Key policies and procedures, including lockout-tagout.13. Other related duties as assigned/required.Desired Skills and ExperienceJob Requirements KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:1. Language Skills: Ability to read, write, analyze, and interpret complex technical information. Ability to respond to inquiries from vendors and engineering. Able to restate such technical information in summary form for layman interpretation in the form of written reports or instructions.2. Mathematical Skills: Ability to apply mathematical formulas and concepts at a minimum of the 12th grade level. Skill in applying statistical formulas and analysis is a plus.3. Team Building: Ability to function well in a team environment. Must work with others under stressful work situations. Must be able to work with others at all levels.4. Training: Ability to transfer knowledge and experience to other technicians, while maintaining openness to new concepts and ideas.5. Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of information in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Must be a self starter, capable of analyzing and developing designs.6.
