SUMMARY

Under the direction of the General Counsel and the GCO Leadership Team, oversees the operational functions of the General Counsel’s Office.  Serves as a member of the GCO Leadership Team.  Manages the office financial, administrative and technology systems, including legal and personnel record-keeping, document flow, file maintenance, physical arrangements, and office scheduling.  Supervises the administrative staff of the General Counsel’s Office.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage the General Counsel’s Office’s (GCO) administrative projects and operational systems to ensure effectiveness and efficiency; regularly communicate with the General Counsel and the GCO Leadership Team (LT) regarding same.
  • Serve on the GCO LT which includes the General Counsel and the chairs of the practice group. Assist in the dissemination of information from the General Counsel and LT to staff.
  • Take necessary actions to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of all project management, timekeeping and database systems in the GCO.  Provide training in the operational systems to attorneys, paralegals and administrative staff.
  • In coordination with the General Counsel and the LT, assist in the maintenance of the professionalism and spiritual environment of the office. Take appropriate action to help protect confidential information.
  • Maintain the office schedule and ensure the effective maintenance of the General Counsel’s Orlando calendar.
  • Conduct regular meetings of the administrative staff and, when requested by the LT, assist in training and informational meetings of the paralegal staff.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: 

  • A deep understanding of Cru, its mission and culture, and in particular the Lake Hart Cru community
  • Biblical principles in order to advise effectively in key position
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Office management techniques and principles, including practices of supervision and training.
  • Financial and other record keeping techniques.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills using tact, patience, and courtesy.
  • Budget preparation and control
  • A demonstrated capability to spiritually lead a large office team
  • A demonstrated sense of “calling” to the role
  • A demonstrated history of living out servant leadership in an office environment
  • Willingness and ability to commit to a full-time role which includes being in the GCO five days a week
  • Operate a personal computer, including complex functions of word processing, spreadsheets and database management
  • Organize, coordinate and oversee office functions and administrative personnel
  • Work confidentially with discretion.
  • Serve clients enthusiastically.
  • Travel throughout United States on occasional basis

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree, and at least seven years’ related experience, preferably in developing and supervising operational functions in a legal team environment; and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
