Job Summary:

Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts, documenting business transactions. Also principally engaged in business development cost and labor analysis, contract auditing, and cost modification processes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1.

Prepare balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports

2.

Analyze trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations incurred to predict future revenues and expenses

3.

Prepare journal entries and monthly analysis and reconciliation of general ledger accounts

4.

Assist with payroll and associated reporting functions

5.

Maintain fixed assets

6.

Reconcile monthly bank statements

7.

Assist with preparation of annual budget

8.

Assist with audits and year-end financial statement review

9.

Monitor activity against budget and prepare monthly actual to budget variance reports

10.

Assist with preparation of cost proposals

Non-Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1.

Prepare state sales tax returns

2.

All other duties assigned

Basic Requirements (Competencies): To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following achievements and competencies:

Education / Experience:

Undergraduate degree in Accounting or Business, plus minimum of 6 years of progressive accounting experience including cost accounting experience required. Knowledgeable of FAR, DCAA, DCAS, government contracting preferred.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of MS Office products including word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, and project management software, use the Internet, and use data base software to create and maintain more complex documents and data entries. At advanced level of proficiency; create diverse standalone or integrated documents or reports with varying complexities to support program operations, financial reporting, human resources reporting and analysis, or other required business documents as needed. May make presentations and explain data contained in documents or reports to management. Deltek experience is a plus.

Must be able to evaluate risks and solutions in compliance with applicable regulatory and business requirements. Ability to assess and interpret implications of functional, business, or core market trends, regulatory changes, and other external influences on business processes, operations, and governance; recommend and implement effective management action plans to mitigate adverse impact on operations. Generally, performs duties from broad scope of objectives and with limited to moderate supervision as required.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is works in a relatively quiet office environment with the use of office equipment and interaction with other employees. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
