SUMMARY OF POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:  The Training Coordinator will analyze, design, develop, implement, and evaluate Credit Union Team Member education and training programs to ensure the ongoing development of Team Members to help meet Orlando Federal’s strategic goals.   The programs would include but are not limited to: human resources (new hire orientation and onboarding); Trusted Member Relations Advisor (relationship building / sales training); lending (consumer and real estate); Teller and Member Relations; leadership development; new initiatives and procedural; regulatory and compliance training (in partnership with the Compliance Officer and Internal Auditor). 

 

 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (including percentage of time): 

 

 

 

Meet or exceed the following essential duties and responsibilities:

 

  • Researches training methods and procedures to determine the most effective manner in which to conduct programs.  Designs and develops training based on key organization needs with an emphasis on New Hire Orientation, Lending (Consumer and Real Estate), Member Relations, and Teller job responsibilities; specialized training for other departments as needed.  Administers programs by personally conducting and facilitating training activities.  Becomes a subject matter expert for key strategic learning areas of the Credit Union.
  • Evaluates and updates existing programs with input from Leadership, Team Members, and other key resources.  Partners with Leaders, Compliance Officer, and Internal Audit Team to update procedures and provide written guidelines for each department or area of operation.  Ensures that training provided meets annual NCUA, CFPB and Federal Regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinates programs and facilitators from various areas of expertise and utilizes external training programs as needed.  Monitors existing programs for quality and acts as an advisor to facilitators on presentations and training to ensure worthwhile training and a quality training experience.  Provides re-training and ensures effectiveness of programs.
  • Performs clerical and administrative duties relating to training and Human Resource programs; developing materials, creating job aids, training set up, assembling rosters, and tracking training results through reporting.  
  • Maintains a calendar of all training activities, library of video, books and other training aids.  

COMPLEXITY OF WORK:  Organized, meticulous, strong attention to detail, and a good public speaker; at ease with moderating large groups; proactively researches training topics for accuracy and compliance.

 

 

 

RELATIONSHIP OUTSIDE OF OFFICE / DEPARTMENT TEAM:  Maintains a high level of professionalism and has ability to work effectively with all departments and all level Team Members within the entire organization

 

 

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES (if applicable):  Serves more in an advisory role to all Team Members of the Credit Union.  Supervises and oversees the training program for the Credit Union.

 

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

2.EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:  

 

  • Must be a high school graduate or have equivalent education.
  • Three to five years training experience preferred. 
  • Three to five years of experience with Credit Union operations or related financial services experience is highly preferred.

 

 

3.CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: 

 

  • Train the Trainer
  • Certified Trainer

 

 

4.ON-THE-JOB TRAINING:

 

  • Ongoing education of regulatory requirements
  • Participation in educational seminars or workshops
  • Trusted Member Relations Advisor Certifications (Sales and Coaching)
  • Core systems training – Episys Quest (Symitar) and Opening Act (Xpress Accounts and LoansPQ)

 

 

5.LANUGUAGE SKILLS:

 

  • Ability to read, speak and write in English proficiently; speak effectively to Team Members and / or before groups.
  • Fluent in Spanish is helpful, but not required.
  • Excellent public speaking skills required.

 

 

6.MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

 

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
  • Ability to calculate fractions, percentages, ratios and averages to create Credit Union reports.

 

 

7.REASONING ABILITY:  

 

  • Communicate expectations, provide timely response to situations, ability to justify and follow through on decisions.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Capacity to define problems; gather data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Analyze and interpret statistical data, focus on details, correlate various pieces of information, identify trends, and understand reasons behind problems as well as successes.
  • Generate effective solutions to problems, consider all aspects of situations, negotiating compromises, suggest alternative solutions, and balance business needs with individual needs (e.g. Team Member’s needs and Credit Union needs.)

 

 

8.OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:  

 

  • Must have good communication skills; formal presentation skills. 
  • Requires education and training in order to understand and train on a wide range of related activities for loans, member services, accounting, teller operations, compliance and human resources.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; highly motivated and well organized; excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain high levels of confidential information.
  • Ability to prioritize workload, maintain integrity of confidential Team Member information.
  • Proficient with Microsoft office products, Excel, Word, PowerPoint; Gmail, etc.
  • Ability to coach staff in the area of career development, job performance, and motivation.
