- Masters degree is preferred GENERAL SUMMARY: The Trauma/Orthopedic Physician Assistant is responsible to the Trauma Services Medical Director. He/she works as a member of a team committed to the purpose of providing the best patient experience and exceptional health care. The Trauma/Orthopedic Physician Assistant works within the scope of the protocols for the trauma/surgical/orthopedic patient and under the direction of the Trauma/Orthopedic surgeons. Functions include managing the care of trauma, orthopedic and/or surgical patients, performing procedures, preparing the patient for discharge, completing History and Physical examinations, as well as Discharge Summaries. The Trauma/Orthopedic Physician Assistant contributes to positive outcomes and meeting the Cultural expectations of the organization by exhibiting professional behavior. Must identify opportunities for and contribute to the improvement of quality, safety and cost, as well as patient, customer, and employee satisfaction. May perform other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

•Preferred: None •Required: Master's prepared preferred, B.S. from an ARC-PA school or its equivalent EXPERIENCE:
•Preferred: None •Required: (If STEP or PTD and normally scheduled to work less than 40 hours per pay period, must have minimum of one year full time experience in acute care hospital.) Emergency Room, Emergency Critical Care, Orthopedic Med/Surg. LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/OTHER:
•Preferred: None •Required: Florida State License as an Physician Assistant and NCCPA certified
