Why You Need to Attend
On June 8th at the Amway Center, we are hosting an event called Hire Day Orlando (www.HireDayOrlando.com). It will be the most significant career event and job fair ever in Central Florida. We have been dreaming about an event like this for years. Hire Day Orlando is an event that combines great employers (over 120), 7,000 plus jobs, great career speakers and job seeker friendly community partners who all have one goal in mind: educate, train and hire.
Here is why you should come:
10 Community Partners
Did you know in Central Florida, almost 50% of families live below the poverty line? The good news is that there are community partners to help so many people. Most of you don’t know they even exist. Our community partners can help you pay rent, pay power bills, get food, hire disabled workers, train (for free) for culinary and construction and get placed immediately upon graduation. Do you have any criminal challenges in your background preventing you from getting a great job? We will have a community partner at Hire Day Orlando that has an excellent program to help. We will post a lot about each organization on the website.
With 3.3% unemployment and the Orlando job market growing, Central Florida employers are looking for talent. We have over 120 employers from over 19 sectors. A complete list of employers and jobs will be on the website.
Sheriff Jerry Demings will be speaking about his career and jobs as a public servant and law enforcement. Ever thought about a role in the simulation industry. Orlando is the home to the world’s largest simulation industry and its leader, Lt. Gen. Tom Baptiste, will tell you how you can get a job in this industry. We have many other speakers who will show you how to become a k-12 teacher in Florida. I will be speaking about what you to do when you apply for a job and never hear back. I will show you why this happens and let you know exactly what you need to do to overcome this and get interviews. The career schedule will be posted at HireDayOrlando.com.
We will have free headshots and free resume reviews for everyone in attendance. If you register for this event (recommended but not needed for entrance), you will be able to upload your resume to the HireDayOrlando.com database that will be available to all employers after the event.
If you know anyone who is looking, please share on your social using this link.
Look forward to seeing you June 8th!
