Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a full-time Early Career Mechanical Engineer. In this role, you will perform entry-level duties of stress analysis, design engineering, and drafting of tooling designs for both mechanical and electrical systems. You will participate in issue resolution, and develop solutions to technical problems of varying complexity while assuring sound technical content and timely closure. The successful candidate will have experience and/or knowledge of 3-D modeling design tools such as CREO/SolidWorks and MATHCAD. Must be a US Citizen; This position is located at a facility that requires special access.
Basic Qualifications:
• Professional experience using a 3D CAD system (Creo, NX SolidWorks, etc.)
• Experience with machine tool design or tool modification
• Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
• US Citizenship required
Desired Skills:
• Candidate should have an understanding and ability to apply basic Mechanical Engineering principles, theories and concepts
• Missile/aerospace-related education/exposure
• Knowledge of Mechanical Design principles including Fluency in Mechanical modeling and analysis tools, such as I-DEAS, Pro-E, Uni-graphics, AutoCAD or similar tools
• Fundamental understanding of structures and materials
• Familiarity with Pro Engineer/Wildfire/Creo Elements
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
• Microsoft Office Tools - Excel, PowerPoint and Word proficient
• Experience in mechanical design in spacecraft

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
