General counsel’s office IP Paralegal 2                                                                                          Pay Level: UN 2/8 Negotiable 

We are searching for an experienced Intellectual Property Paralegal to work onsite in the General Counsel’s Office at Cru, headquartered in Orlando, Fl.  Established in 1951, Cru is a nonprofit, religious organization. With ministry operations in over 190 countries, the legal office at Cru provides services both in the U.S. and globally.Successful candidates will take on a high degree of responsibility and manage a challenging workload. Experience in drafting and managing intellectual property licenses and other intellectual property related agreements is required.  Work experience inside a corporate setting is a plus.  The ability to work in a fast paced environment, with strong attention to detail is essential. SUMMARY

Assist General Counsel and other staff attorneys in the management of information, preparation of documents of Intellectual Property legal matters for the Jesus Film, Familylife and other ministries of Cru, by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manage intake process by gathering and analyzing information related to all new and existing Intellectual Property contract matters for all Cru ministries. Maintain matters using a dedicated technology system; ensure proper indexing and filing of legal matters.

Maintain database of Intellectual Property contract forms and templates using a sophisticated technology system.

Attend meetings, take notes, and assist attorney in collecting legal and factual records.

Draft legal documents, such as licenses, contracts, permissions and agreements.

Check legal forms and documents for accuracy

Transmit legal correspondence to clients by electronic mail, mail, delivery service or fax.

Interface with clients and update documents with negotiated changes.

Prepare affidavits of documents and maintain document files; ensure proper indexing and filing of original legal documents.

Responds to staff inquiries and assist staff in obtaining necessary legal assistance when requested.

Coordinate the duplication and distribution of a variety of materials.

Type a variety of correspondence, emails, agendas, memoranda, reports, and other materials.

Faithfully represent (or be a faithful example of) Christ and the Christian faith by effectively displaying Cru’s mission to the broader community.

Present the Cru mission and ministry purpose.

Other duties may be assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

AA degree or Bachelor's degree (preferred) and at least 5 years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Specialized knowledge of Intellectual property laws is a plus.
